Sony has denied that it will be holding a press conference on October 12, where the company is rumored to announce the availability of a 40GB PlayStation 3 console.
Rumors of the new SKU materialised before the Tokyo Games Show, where it was later expected to be announced a press conference next week. However, a Sony spokesperson has contacted Eurogamer stating that there is no such conference being held.
This, however, may simply imply that the conference itself is not happening, as the firm refused to confirm or deny the existence of the new PS3 unit.
